Austin Sports Hall of Famer coach Joe Hines, Is where the story of the Texas Brakers starts. An individual of immeasurable talent being intuitive, insightful, and highly compassionate helped him lead many young people to fulfill their dreams. Coach Joe Hines left an undeniable mark in the Central Texas community, for his many years of volunteer work with youth. Coach Hines had a unique talent for developing all of his players and the foundation needed to succeed both on the court and off the court. This was most evident when he would always accept the challenges that most of the coaches at that time would not. It seemed year in and year out, he would always have the most, young ladies on his roster in a Coed division. Needless to say that never stopped the success that his teams would have. This small coincidence seemed to have a very meaningful impact on one of his young players. None other than our current director, Coach Lance.

The time that our Director spent with Coach Hines is what shaped him into the type of person he is today. Coach Lance has followed in Coach Hines's footsteps. Lance has taken what he learned from Coach Hines and added to it. Texas Brakers Inc was formed to fill a void in the community And to carry on a legacy that was passed to him. A legacy that consists of compassion and the foundational development of the person. With that understanding, Lance developed our three core values: Courage, Commitment, and Confidence. Teaching young people to bet on themselves to be successful. Do not be afraid to fail. Fail as many times as you need so you understand how to succeed. While helping youth develop the drive and work ethic needed, for them to achieve their goals. Providing a healthy environment to promote a good self-image, so when difficulties arise, they don't look down on themselves, but instead, smile and realize it's another steppingstone.
